This week’s piece is a set of guidelines for generating and managing animal companions in DCC.
I opted to build the rules without class association, as I think that in the spirit of DCC questing to find an animal companion seems like a worthy cause for any adventurer, and befriending beasts and monsters has a distinctly Appendix N feel, regardless of your specific class or profession. At the same time, the rules are fairly freeform, as I’m sure Judges want to apply their own twists to finding companions in their games.
And, as we aim to please, I’ve added a sheet usable for animal companions, familiars and whatnot as an added bonus!
